Mission statement:

My consulting goal is to provide long-term sustained church health accomplished by refocusing the local church outward in order to reach their surrounding communities with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, disciple new believers, and engage leaders and laity in ministry. It is my sincere objective to be used of God to assist local churches to move from decline to a healthy church status. It is a great feeling to help congregations identify the issues that keep them in a rut and then help them break out of these existing situations. It is a joy to assist pastors, leaders and laity in allowing them to find viable alternatives to their current situation.

Ministry experience:

This is my 45th year of ministering in local churches across the USA and in many countries of the world where I have spoken over 8,000 times in nearly 4,000 conferences, leadership gatherings and local church events. My work has been focused on the task of revitalizing the local church and training and equipping laity and leaders. Currently, I am one of the senior revitalization consultants for the Church of God (Cleveland, Tennessee) USA Missions. I have authored five books and manuals including the recent Revitalization Coach Manual for this group. Also, I served the denomination as the International Director of Church of God Laity Ministries for 28 years. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biblical Education from Lee University, Cleveland, Tennessee. I have been married for 50 years to Pat and I have one child, Renee, son-in-law, Joe, and a beautiful grandchild, Emily!

Consultation details:

My ministry organization, Church Consulting Solutions, has designed an effective process in three stages to assist in assessing where the church is now, fashioning a vision for a new direction of where the church could be, determining critical areas of need and putting together an action plan that will help the church reach its goals. These stages are: preparation, consultation and implementation. We come alongside the pastor and church leaders to provide direction, inspiration, and encouragement for the revitalization plan and process. A unique feature of our strategy is assisting the church in a collaborative effort in the final phase of planning and implementation. The result is a workable plan that everyone can agree with because the staff and leaders help produce the final product. As a pastor, you will see the ministry and outreach of your church from a new perspective, learn how to create a core plan tied to a unified vision, prepare leaders, involve laity and move forward.
