Mission Statement:
4T I-40 receives its name from 4T-Transformation Through Transitional Times and from I-40-Isaiah 40:31, "They will soar on wings like eagles." While the ministry is able to assist churches of all sizes, the ministry is especially designed to provide affordable consulting services to the smaller congregation especially in the Northeast where congregations are struggling and are often situated in communities that are demographically declining. 4T I-40's mission is to assist these congregations through these transitions as well as give them hope that God has a plan for them.

Ministry Experience:
Rev. J. Steven Reynolds was born and raised in Western New York until he went to Boston to attend Grahm Junior College. It was shortly after his days at Grahm that he became a follower of Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1973 through the ministry of Park Street Church in Boston. It was at Park Street Church that he sensed God's call to pastoral ministry and he prepared for this calling as he received his Masters of Divinity Degree at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. During his days of seminary, following his days at Park Street Church, he continued his field work at the First Baptist Church of Revere, Massachusetts which was a small American Baptist Church near Boston. Since that time Rev. Reynolds has been the pastor of three American Baptist Churches in Vermont, Pennsylvania and Upstate New York and has been a pastor for over 30 years. In recent years, Rev. Reynolds has sensed God's call to help churches that are in transition in a consulting role. After receiving extensive training in Intentional Interim Ministry (to help churches that are between pastors) as well as training in Church Consulting, he has conducted a number of workshops and consultations for various churches. In 2011, he began to serve as the Living Waters Baptist Association of the American Baptist Churches of New York State Field Ministry Enhancement team member. In this role, he has assisted churches in the pastoral placement process as well as to give counsel to churches in transition.
Special Experience:
1) Intentional Interim Ministry training and denominational (American Baptist Churches of New York State) Field Ministry Enhancement Team member assisting churches that are in transition including those between pastors or are in declining communities. 2) Small Church ministry, transitioning and training including those that are in communities that are demographically declining. 3) 4T I-40 is theologically evangelical and is committed to Biblically rooted, Christ-Centered renewal and yet is able to work with congregations in a number of denominational and cultural contexts
Other Experience:
Completed Levels 1-5 of the Church Consulting Training and has done at least two consultations as of August 2012. Served as Living Waters Baptist Association's representative (American Baptist Churches of New York State) on the Field Ministry Enhancement team and is currently working with churches that are without pastors and who are in the interim period. Conducted Workshops including "The Small Church in a Changing World," "Is Your Church an Institution or a Movement of God?" and "Getting Your Church out of Neutral or Reverse." Taught a number of courses in our New York State Baptist Lay Studies program including courses on Church Administration and Worship.
Inspiration:
Philippians 1:6
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
